Surely by now, the San Francisco police department had come out to the docks to find all of the blood drenched bodies who had fallen along the dock. Rialâs exodus seemed ideal, as given the circumstances this would be a fantastic time to leave. Certainly, someone of Mister Oleander Greeneâs influence would be anonymous in the matter, even if they found that he had associative dealings in it. God only knew how many young boys that fiend had worked, unmercifully raped, tortured, and sold off to be raped and tortured by other rich and powerful persons whose palaces lie in the shadows of this world. While it bothered him, Seth could not allow for it.
Like most men heâd judge others, while holding his own-self to a different standard. These were all foul sinners after all, he told himself. In his eyes, they werenât members of the Holy Mormon church, but the fruit and seeds of unrighteousness. All the while, he believed that he was justified, or for what little thought he gave it. Mostly, he avoided thinking about it at all. After all, it all seemed such a trite thing in comparison to the will of his patron and dear uncle Clay Corpse. There Desmond and Ichi of their party, joined by six fresh fellows whom Mister Greene had so graciously supplied mounted up on horses.
Seth and his brother in arms Elisha rode in an open carriage that held additional arms, water, and jerky for wherever this journey might take them. Amongst their pistols and long arm shotguns and rifles, they had a Sharps rifle with a scope made specifically for sniping off targets at a distance. Thus they pursued them, and thereby the presumption that their target was not so far out of reach did abound in several of their minds.
After theyâd come a substantial ways out of town Clayâs men began to move on the caravan more aggressively. Howbeit, as they sped up, so did those whom they chased. It was at this time that one of Oleander Greeneâs men drew the Sharps sniper rifle from the wagon, and fired it across the distance striking one of the riders. In a violent turn of events, three horsemen whoâd accompanied Rial turned around and began to race towards Seth and his fellows as though Hell was on their heels. Once theyâd covered some distance, the three of them began to dash and dodge, weaving from the right to the left to one degree or another. Or at least that was the case with two of the three horsemen. The other brazenly persisted to charge the ten men straight on ejaculating what sounded to be a Rebel Yell. Having finished loading the Sharpâs for another go, Oleanderâs man looked confident. âDie, you son of a beast.â, he cockily muttered under his breath, as he was about to fire. However, before he could shoot, the two weaving winding men began to fire on the ten with their rifles.
